The Crane Assembly

The Crane Assembly Hand crafting wines and preserving a piece of California's agricultural history. “Funny thing how it is.

If a man owns a little property, that property is him, it’s part of him, and it’s like him….he can walk on it and handle it and be sad when it isn’t doing well, and feel fine when the rain falls on it, that property is him, and some way he’s bigger because he owns it.”

A new chapter for The Crane Assembly.

Our inaugural 2024 Disciples Pinot Noir from Bell Summe Vineyard is sourced from the rugged Sonoma Coast—where the influence of the Pacific shapes a wine of precision, energy, and structure.

Crafted in an Old World style using three distinct clones and partial whole cluster, this is a Pinot Noir defined by vibrant red fruit, layered aromatics, and a refined, elegant finish.

This is a limited inaugural release, now available via our mailing list.https://mailchi.mp/209704f01eeb/just-released-our-first-pinot-noir

Rooted in history. Defined by place.

The 2022 G.B. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a site first planted in 1860—where generations of farming continue to shape the wines we produce today. From a small block planted in 1995, this vintage captures the structure and character that define the vineyard.

Described as “vivacious” and “full-bodied,” with a finish that is “long and minerally” by Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown.

Just 6 barrels produced.

The January 2026 reviews were highlighted by double 97-point scores for our 2023 G.B. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and George—the highest rating our G.B. Crane Vineyard George (formerly el Coco) has ever received. Lisa has reviewed this wine dating back to her years covering Napa Valley for Robert Parker Wine Advocate, making this moment especially meaningful.

As the year comes to a close, we want to pause and say thank you.

2025 was a year of meaningful milestones for The Crane Assembly—from the debut of G.B. Crane Vineyard George Red Wine, to the release of our first Disciples Sauvignon Blanc and the tightly allocated Disciples Palisades Vineyard Petite Sirah. In the vineyard, the 2025 vintage delivered something truly special—balanced, expressive fruit that we believe will stand among Napa Valley’s great years.

Looking ahead, there’s much to be excited about. In the coming months, we’ll bottle our first Pinot Noir, release a highly limited single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, participate in Auction Napa Valley, and look forward to gathering with you—both at the G.B. Crane Vineyard and around tables across the country.

If you’re interested in visiting us in Napa or hosting an intimate in-home dinner with The Crane Assembly, we invite you to reach out, send us a message, or comment below. We truly enjoy connecting with our community and sharing these wines where their story begins.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to connecting in the year ahead.

From el Coco to George — a new era begins.

With the release of the 2023 vintage, our estate red wine has evolved into George, honoring Dr. Crane — Napa Valley pioneer who first planted our vineyard in 1860.

Crafted by Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky from the historic vines of the G.B. Crane Vineyard, this inaugural release captures over 160 years of Napa Valley heritage in every bottle.

The next chapter from The Crane Assembly has arrived.
