Behind the scenes with the hands that care for every barrel at Pestoni Family Winery.

Racking day for our 2024 Quackenbush Mountain Barbera. Cellar Master, Manuel, carefully moves the wine off its lees, protecting each barrel with nitrogen and guiding the transfer with the bulldog, while Winemaker, Jeremiah, preps the stainless steel tanks for their next fill. And of course, tasting along the way.

It’s equal parts science, instinct, and patience — honoring the fruit, the vintage, and the family tradition in every step.

As our 2025 Lone Acre Cabernet rests, a small amount naturally evaporates overtime. Cellar Master, Manuel, and Winemaker, Jeremiah, are topping each barrel—a quiet but meaningful step that protects the wine as it matures.

It’s this steady, hands-on care that carries each vintage forward.

It's been 70 and sunny here in Napa (sorry, East Coasters!) and we've been so happy to return to welcoming folks for leisurely tastings in the sun and shade. Nic, our host with the most (and owner of the best smile around), is here to make sure guests have a wonderful experience and leave with plans to return soon. Curating a memorable day in Napa is what we do!

Our talented winemaking team united today to sample barrels of some of our heritage wines, including old vine Sangiovese (noted as 24SGOLD on the barrels). 2024 marks the year and Jeremiah Moore joined us for harvest and seeing these wines come together, in preparation for bottling, is truly exciting.

Can you tell Jeremiah is excited!?
Last year, we began a delicious new endeavor inspired by our Swiss-Italian heritage: Riserva Bianca, crafted from our estate’s beautiful Merlot. Yes—this is a white wine, currently aging sur lie in these 600-litre puncheons. White Merlot (also known as Bianco di Merlot) is a specialty of Switzerland’s Italian-speaking Ticino region, made by vinifying Merlot like a white wine, with the skins removed early to preserve a light, fresh, floral, and fruit-driven style. Never ones to rush a good thing, we are patiently enjoying how this wine is developing in barrel and can’t wait to share it!
