Not a police post but still a very cool moment for Lily.
Her mom had a very hard time finding a wheelchair for her. No one would rent her one because of the distance and time limit. One phone call and Michigan State Representative Parker Fairbairn and his office jumped into action.
He personally delivered the wheelchair to Lily and took the time to talk to her for a few minutes.
Words cannot express how grateful we are for him and his office.
Her ‘scoot nasty’ was working in a pinch but she’s almost too heavy for it with her casts, now she can go to school comfortably and in style!

Lil is getting frustrated, which is understandable, but she finally decided to go through her mail!
Mackinaw City PDs patch made her cackle. Her mom got pulled over once by Mackinaw PD and she has yet to let her mother live it down.
“Member that one time you got pulled over mom?! You think they member?!”
She is also an honorary police officer for the Phoenix Arizona Police!
More of Lupos friends have sent her trading cards which is “so coooooool!” And a couple of new K-9 cards made her day.
She’s pretty sure she’s gonna be a K-9 officer when she grows up now.

The firefighters have entered the chat. She still thinks police officers are the coolest buttt “Firefighters are pretty cool too right?”
Also! Lupo’s friends sent her some trading cards, a ton of coloring pages and stickers.
Service dogs have a special place in her heart. When she was getting an MRI done at Devos a service dog named Indy came in and helped her be brave while getting an IV. Indy did such a good job she didn’t even notice it being put in.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time out of your day for Lil. She’s gotten a lot of cards too. Every single word written is being read to her and she cannot believe how many people are rooting and praying for her.

And in two different posts on top of it.
But here’s her round of patches PLUS she is officially an Honorary Police Officer now with the Sault Tribe police department. She’s arresting her mother 24/7 now. The K-9 cards were a hit too. She’s getting a nice pile of trading cards. She wants all of them framed so she can look at all the working pups.

Little Lily update:

She had her check up on Wednesday. The head of her femur is completely flat now, which we knew was gonna happen. There’s one little spot in the bone where if it gets enough blood flow the head generally grows round. Lily’s spot was getting blood but the doctors couldn’t tell if it was enough. The entire point of this surgery was to bury the head to make sure it grows back round, so while it sucks for her it was the right call. She’s got 3 pins in her pelvis bone holding it together while she heals. Those have to come out in December.

Good news!:
She’ll only be in casts for 6 weeks and she’s already down to 5! She’ll be non weight bearing on her bad leg for a while after but she’ll at least be able to get up out of bed, hop around, and sit up.
Perthes disease is all about watching the bone so it’ll be another 2ish years for the bone to regrow and 🤞🏻hopefully🤞🏻grow the correct way.

Antrim sent her so many fun things we couldn’t pile it up on her good enough so she picked out her favorites. She loves working puppies so the K-9 cards made her day.

She’s home and doing amazing. Shes so happy getting all the police patches that have been slowly making their way to her.

Lil: MOM! I’m so lucky! I can’t believe all these police officers thought of me. How’d they know? How’d they know I wanna be police?
Mom: I think when you decide to become a police officer at a young age current police officers can feel it when a future police officer is going through something tough. So they circle the wagons.
Lil: A disturbance in the force.
Mom: That’s right. All their spidey senses were tingling.
Lil: It’s so cool right mom? I hope I get more!

Bit of an update for Lil:
She had a long night and a long morning but they finally got her pain under control.
She did everything she had to do and then some to finally head home.
It’s gonna be a long and hard road ahead for her but she’s excited for all the police patches headed her way.

Thank you again to everyone who shared her story, prayers and giving her something to look forward to while she’s on bed rest. We’re still speechless and in awe of how far this went for a tiny 5 year old with a big dream. 💚💛

Lily’s out and ok. Everything went good. She lost some blood but it was pumped right back into her. She’s bionic now with some screws in her hip which she’s gonna think is so cool. Depending on if she can keep liquids down, how she deals with pain and farts (which we KNOW Lil will think is hilarious) there’s a very good chance she can go home tomorrow. 🤞🏻
Mom and TT are just waiting to head back to see her.
This will probably be it for tonight so the girls can focus on Lily.

Made it to down safe and sound.
They just brought Lil back now.
She brought a little bit of home with her. Got LOTS of compliments on her bag. Doctor predicts about a 3 hour surgery so fingers crossed!
