Last night we went to Saint James Brewery for “dinner”… 😂🍺🍫
Here’s what we discovered.
We brought along a selection of chocolates, ordered a flight, and started experimenting.
Our three favorite pairings:
LIGHT
🍺 Kölsch
🍫 Venchi Pistachio Cremino
DEEP ASCENT
🍺 Captain Pat’s Porter
🍫 Fruition Brown Butter Milk 43%
DISCOVERY
🫐 Lemon Blueberry Ale
🍋 Castronovo White Chocolate + Lemon + Sea Salt
But there was one more discovery we didn't expect…
Venchi Original Cremino was the little overachiever of the evening. 😂
Somehow, it worked with almost everything we tasted. Not necessarily the best pairing every time—but interesting enough that we kept going back to it.
Same chocolate. Different beers. Different experience.
HONORABLE MENTION
David kept going back to the Chuggernaut paired with Dick Taylor 73% Browned Rumiano Butter—with roasted cacao nibs and sea salt. Yes! Another delicious discovery.
His favorite wasn't necessarily mine…and that's exactly what makes pairing so much fun.
Same beers. Same chocolates. Different palates.
And just like that, last night's discoveries have earned a place on our Chocolate Pairings Wall.
What would you have reached for first? 🍺🍫
