I have a guardian dog that is usually pretty good, but she wanders too far and the neighbors don't like her over there scaring off the deer. So I have her on a long lead. My problem is the geese want to eat all her food. Does anyone have a solution so I can keep them all together but the geese won't eat all her food? Right not in just feeding her once or twice a day and trying to just feed her what she'll eat, but this isn't great.

These black copper marans chicks are small enough to get out of the pasture and come find me for treats. Some people raise them for meat, but we have American Bresse for that. My wife and kids wanted the dark eggs that they lay just to mix things up.

This pilgrim goose decided that under the shed was a good spot to try to nest. I added the straw when I saw her under there and gave her a fake egg. She made a nest and covered the egg but never ended up laying her own so I guess she is done laying for the season.

Grandma Wilde turned 100 this year. We asked her what her secret was and she said to keep moving and eat as fresh of food as possible. She still makes it to the gym almost every day, yes, she still drives, and there is always fresh fruit and homemade food available. She's nice to everyone and I don't know if anyone that doesn't like to spend time with her.

The baby goats were pretty cute. This one's mom ran off so it was a bottle baby. It was really friendly and would chase the kids around on the burn of the pond and around the yard. The only videos we have of it, the kids aren't wearing much clothes, so those won't be posted.

We tried to expand our meat production to include goats, so we bought some females that had just had babies. Turns out, goats are annoying cause they're always trying to get out of their fence whether it's going through, under, or over. It also doesn't matter the type of fence, barbwire, electric, and welded wire. Long story short, we sold what we could and butchered the rest. Never having goats again.

We also hatch out American Bresse chickens from our flock. This breed was brought into America from France in 2011 if I remember right. It is a dual purpose breed that has a lot of extra fat. Some people/the intereeb claim there is marbling to the meat, which I don't believe. It is just extra fat that makes it great for roasting so the meat doesn't dry out. We typically butcher from age 16-18 weeks and they have great flavor, much better than Cornish cross and store bought chicken.

We put straw and cardboard down but the straw started to sprout. So we decided to burn them and get the benefits of the ash to start this bed. We used raised beds in Missouri because we get lots of rain and it stays too wet if we plant in the ground.
