North Central Research Station The NCRS is a 1,600-acre research facility, dedicated to providing quality research results.

We strive to ensure excellence in all trials, with thoughtful plot setup and stringent plot standards. The North Central Research Station is an 1,600-acre agricultural research facility, dedicated to developing the most efficient, environmentally research results and crop nutrient recommendations. The innovation staff conducts research on a wide range of row crops including corn, soybean, dry edible beans, potatoes, winter canola, and winter wheat.

Don’t get stuck in a storm! Make sure you have a way back if you’re using slower equipment. Our research team uses radios during busy seasons. We are able to communicate quickly and get everyone to a safe area before inclement weather hits.

This is our first year growing canola! We work hard to ensure this crop will be successful, starting with the fertility. Fun fact - Canola is a heavy nitrogen user and can remove 1.5-3 lbs N/bu of grain, with removal rates varying by region.
