We all have our favorite cows, and Abby’s is easily J19! Don’t let the letter on the tag fool you…she’s 15. This is her 13th calf, a bull (WS Marvel out of our new donor, ES L150).

Excited to watch this one grow! ☀️

We had our “drone guy” out to do some frost seeding in March and some overseeding in some of our other pastures in April. We left a test strip so we can evaluate the success through the grazing season. The drone has about 50 # of seed in the tank for size reference.

Frost and overseeding helps us keep the ground covered, fill in bare areas and improve the stand to ensure high quality forage for the livestock. With the price of nitrogen so high, seeding clover helps us make our own and reduce our fertilizer bill. 🍀 ☘️

Last week when 4” rain was predicted we sorted off the close up heifers and brought them to the barnyard just in case. Thankful for the rain and barn space for when we need it! BCLR MISS DILIGENCE M404 kicked off spring calving with a Bull calf this morning, sired by Ellingson Manifesto K238.

Chris wanted to try some different genetics. So we went on a road trip yesterday. 1st time we weren't uploading a trailer in the middle of the night or left at 2am to meet a trailer. Welcome Rural Route 5 Sweetness M721 to the herd

Thank you to all who supported us in the 2nd Annual Production Sale. We have thoroughly enjoyed visiting with all of you who stopped out or gave us a call. The people are truly what makes the beef industry special!

The 2027 offering will be our first year to showcase our spring calving program. The bulls were all born in April to May 2025, and will be coming 2 years old when sold. We will also offer bred and open heifers again, direct from our replacement pens! We welcome visitors all year, give us a call if you are passing through!
