Tear it down and wash it up!

The rains have allowed us a catch up day and today we are cleaning up the corn planter. In about 6 more hours it will be totally cleaned up and ready to be put away until we bring it back into the shop next winter to rebuild it.

If you see this rig on the road, Tony will wave as he’s happy! But please do not pull over right across from a mail box. You can see the tanks are wide and cannot fit.

Rain delay = catch up on cattle. It’s been a busy spring with planting. Between mixing a batch or two of feed, and cleaning the bedded areas out this morning, livestock will always keep you busy!

Plant the cows food source. What a beautiful night to lay some corn seed into 48 degree soil.

Ran out of dry ground, so we are checking the planter over before it heads back to the field.

The black wheels set the depth for planting and we want them to run against the seed blades so that they have solid contact. This contact keeps dry dirt from getting into the seed furrow that the seed blades form.

These little adjustments keep the planter running flawlessly.
