Sweetgrass Jacobs Peg Bostwick and Joe Bohr raise registered Jacob sheep at Sweetgrass Farm in central Michigan, not far north of Lansing. We started raising Jacobs in 1987.

Our 2026 lambs have arrived, and we are watching them closely to see which have the best potential for breeding flocks. A few have been promised to those that we have spoken with this past year, but the rest will be listed on our website as we decide which have that potential.

Meanwhile, here is one of my early favorite ram lambs - he may stay here for a year before going to another flock. Sweetgrass Ryker. Sire - Valerian just joined our flock last summer as a lamb, and so far we are pretty happy with him!

Ryker is a lilac, his twin brother is black and white. Hiding behind a feeder here - it has been hard to get good photos with all the rain this spring!

Also, below, Sweetgrass Summertime. A very pretty little girl.

All of a sudden it is summer 2025. In July, we will be actively involved in the 2025 meeting of the Jacob Sheep Breeders Association Meeting in Coldwater Michigan ---at the Branch County Fairgrounds on July 18-20. If you are a member of JSBA, you should have received information regarding the meeting. If not, contact me if you wish! It will be a great place to see a lot of registered Jacobs.

And we also will be posting 2025 lambs for sale soon - here and on our website!

Meanwhile, we are selling this lovely 2-horned yearling ewe, for no reason other than that we need to continue to gradually downsize our breeding flock (and are keeping her twin). I hate to see her go. Her name is Sweetgrass Ladysmith -- JSBA # C076-24. Dam is Sweetgrass Maizie 2. Sire is Sweetgrass St. Cyr. Jacob ram lambs - 2 horned or 4 horned, we've got 'em this year! Still watching those horns grow - especially the 2-horned boys who can be so beautiful if their horns grow wide of their cheeks, but such a problem if they curl in.

This is Sweetgrass Bramble, and at almost 3 months, he's looking good! Sire is Cove Fields River, from the Carnes in NC. Dam is our ewe SG Stargazer. Love this guy's looks, markings, fleece, and so far his horns...

It is APRIL and that means that we have Jacob lambs bouncing around. Thirty this year about 50/50 ewes and rams. I'll post a couple of baby photos today, but in another few weeks we'll be able to evaluate horn growth etc. and offer some for sale. Hi, all! Our 2023 lambs are due beginning about St. Patrick's Day - we will post baby photos as available!

Meanwhile, we our selling out 2 year old ram, Sweetgrass Seamus. Sire: Kreutzer Farms Kearney.
Dam: Sweetgrass Maizie 2.
Maizie is about 3/4 Hescock (Jacobs Ladder) breeding, so this guy is a nice mix of old and newer bloodlines. He has a nice disposition, long-stapled fleece with lots of color, and has been shown as a lamb (halter trained). If interested, PLEASE contact me via email - [email protected].
