Young Adult Registered Jacob Rams For Sale

We are now selling two adult rams: two-year-old Sweetgrass Augustine, and his yearling son Sweetgrass Tucker. Both are closely related to many of our brood ewes, and given that we are cutting back on our flock size, it is time to find them new flocks. We have been breeding Jacobs for 39 years, and are winding down, but hope to place these rams with breeders who will make good use of their bloodlines - check them out in the JSBA pedigree search on the JSBA website.

AUGUSTINE is a 4-horned ram, a beautiful boy (hope you don't mind me bragging just a bit.) His sire is Cove Fields River, dam is Sweetgrass Mica, and his granddam - Maverick Miata2 - had one of the prettiest fleeces that I've ever seen. Augustine placed second in the yearling ram class at the 2025 AGM. He is of average size; has a gorgeous soft, open fleece; and a very sweet temperament. An easy to handle boy who likes his humans.

TUCKER is a 2-horned ram, sired as noted above by Augustine. His dam is Sweetgrass Shadows. Tucker hasn't been shown yet, and needs a bit more halter work, but has every sign of being a sweet boy like his sire. We will be showing him at the Michigan Fiber Festival in August - he'll be available right after that, fully halter trained.

Please contact me for more information on either of these rams. We're always happy to talk to old hands or new breeders - I just want to find someone who will appreciate these rams and make good use of their genetics.

We also have a few ram lambs showing promise, and will be posting them soon. Looking forward to hearing from you. Peg

Our 2026 lambs have arrived, and we are watching them closely to see which have the best potential for breeding flocks. A few have been promised to those that we have spoken with this past year, but the rest will be listed on our website as we decide which have that potential.

Meanwhile, here is one of my early favorite ram lambs - he may stay here for a year before going to another flock. Sweetgrass Ryker. Sire - Valerian just joined our flock last summer as a lamb, and so far we are pretty happy with him!

Ryker is a lilac, his twin brother is black and white. Hiding behind a feeder here - it has been hard to get good photos with all the rain this spring!

Also, below, Sweetgrass Summertime. A very pretty little girl.

More to come as they grow and our photographer (đŸ˜‰) catches up.
