💜We were recently asked to customize some lavender themed wedding favors for a great new couple💜 they were kind enough to allow us to share a few photo’s. Let us know if you are in need of small fragrant gifts, or wedding favors 💜

Good read and very true, but I would try to cut 1/4” above that dotted line leaving some green.

Good read and very true, but I would try to cut 1/4” above that dotted line leaving some green.

There's a job you need to do to your lavender in the next few weeks, and if you get it wrong, or skip it, you'll lose the plant to a woody, split, straggly mess that never really comes back.

Here's the timing that trips people up. Lavender wants its big prune right after it finishes blooming, and for most of us that window is late summer, right about now. Wait too long and you run into a different problem, because cutting lavender too close to cold weather leaves it vulnerable, so this stretch is the sweet spot. Do nothing at all and the plant goes woody on its own, at which point pruning can't save it.

But here's the part that makes people nervous and hold back. There's exactly one cut that ruins lavender, and it's the one timid gardeners make without realizing. Lavender turns woody at its base faster than you'd ever expect, and if your pruners drop below a certain point on the stem, you're left with bare stubs that produce nothing. No coming back from that.

The good news is the plant tells you exactly where to cut. There's a clear line where this year's new growth meets the older wood, and it's visible once you know to look. Land above it and your lavender bounces back fragrant, bushy, and loaded with blooms next year. Land below it and you've done real damage.

Get this one cut right this month and you'll have gorgeous lavender for years instead of a tired woody shrub you end up ripping out.

I laid out exactly where to cut and when. It's all in the first comment.

💜🇺🇸half way there on harvest. 🇺🇸💜

Here’s a few pictures of how we dry the bundles to make them straight!!
We use a few horse panels hanging from the ceiling, rubber bands and paper clips…..works great for us…

check out the difference in color between fresh and dried bundles……..They will hold that color blue for years if kept out of the sun. Also, if you leave a dried bundle alone for a few days….. then pick it up and try to smell it……..it won’t smell…..😳
A very light SQUEEZE will release a bit of oil and bring back the scent you want……try it!!!

💜We will have fresh bundles daily at the farm stand for short time.

Hope to see ya soon!!

💜These kiddos were great at helping harvest some Lavender today. Hailey found the bee hive and Adrean claimed he held the most bundles for the picture. Think I could’ve held more but wasn’t fast enough. He grabbed them all. 😂💜

🇺🇸💜💜 If you like Lavender….Now is a good time to check out the fields. Nice and purple. You will notice the x-intermediate long stem are behind a bit but coming on strong. The furthest field up the hill is best for pictures! Feel free to take the road leading to the green house to park closer…..Also notice we had some damage to a few plants from last year. Winter was rough a bit…We will trim them up and hopefully get them back feeling better. We plan to start hand harvesting to replenish our yearly supply for product making in the coming weeks.

8:00-8:00 this WEEKEND Only …..Bring your own scissors ✂️. Cut your own fresh lavender bundle….I’ll leave some rubber bands in the farmstand if needed.
👌index finger to thumb. (Pack it in and squeeze tight). $10.00. Each…Pay at the farm stand !! It’s all on the honor system. We like it that way!!
Hope you enjoy your stay and appreciate all that is interested!!💜💜 🇺🇸
Thanks!!
