I know that you people waiting for beef, have been patiently waiting for the fall to arrive so that your beef can be processed and freezer ready!!
I have an update on the butchering time frame. Our local butcher told me he had all of January open, and some possible slots in December. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but our other butcher in Taberg, is also taking January orders.
This is a little bit longer than we anticipated and are not happy for the extra wait, but it is what it is.
Also, we will be raising the hanging weight by 25 cents for a total of $2.75 hanging weight. This has been only our second price increase since we have been raising beef, and unfortunately rising cost in raising animals has left us no other choice in doing so. Please let us know if you want to be removed from the list so that we have an accurate number that will need to go, and so we can move people on the list up.
Thank you all once again, and again, I am sorry for the delay.....but we for sure will have beef for you in January, if not, before!šŸ™‚

For those of you who are on the list for beef this fall, I want to let you know we are ready to schedule appointments.

I have left a couple messages with a local butcher, and waiting for a response.

When I get a date, I will personally message you with a date, and your confirmation that you still want beef.

Anybody who has changed their
mind, feel free to drop me a message.

Thank you all for your patience!

Well happy post Christmas everybody.
Christmas on the farm was a little different for us country bumpkins.
A little blip, but we get to celebrate two times this year!!

Well anyway, just wanted to let you all know, that those that are waiting for those freezers to feast on some beef, we have not forgotten you, and unfortunately have not been bumped up to an earlier date.
We still have dates for two in the end of January, and two in February.

Some good news is also in the horizon.
I see that a new USDA butcher shop has opened in Nelliston. Having another option is great so that we are able to accommodate people sooner….and it being closer is also a bonus. Have not personally called this place, but will be soon to gather more information about them.

Also, I mentioned in a previous post that there is a butcher only miles from us. He is not USDA, but the feedback has been very positive!!

So y’all hang in there. It won’t be much longer.
If anyone is wondering if they are on our list, or need to be removed for whatever reason, please reach out to me ASAP so that I can remove your name, and add somebody else!

Thank you all for your patience, and letting us feed you!šŸ„©šŸ˜‹šŸ„°

Update on current beef situation-
I do have two scheduled appointments for two angus on each appointment.
January 27th, and February 17th.

I totally expected it to be awhile.
With the price of beef soaring in the stores, and the talk of a beef shortage has had many opting to go for local farm raised beef.

Other option that may be available, is to try another butcher that we know that could possibly accommodate us earlier.
For the last several years we have used Kelly meats in Taberg, who is a USDA butcher shop, and have been very satisfied with them overall.

Another couple options that may be available, is to try another butcher that we know that could possibly accommodate us earlier.
One is USDA, and the other is not.

Also, I should mention that we have never increased our beef price since providing beef, but will be increasing it .25, for a hanging weight price of $2.50.

For those that are getting beef, if you want to cancel, please let us know, so we can fill your spot with someone else.

We are on a cancellation list, so that does give us an opportunity to get in quicker, but there’s no guarantee that will happen.
Sorry.

It has been too long since I have posted anything on my beef page, and I am sorry for those of you that are still waiting for beef. After our last four angus went in, we unfortunately had to pause for several months to let the animals grow some more.

Covid has surely put a spin on things.
This is where we are at right now.

For those of you that are still on our list, and patiently waiting, we have not forgotten about you. The butcher shops have an overwhelming number of people stocking their freezers, and are working long hard weeks.
I also heard the waiting lists to get in are also longer than we had expected.

I will be calling tomorrow to schedule an appointment for 4. That is the max number of animals they will allow for anyone sending beef to be processed.

I will update this post, and let everyone know the date they gave us so you can all plan accordingly. I don’t anticipate it being too soon.šŸ™

Thank you all for your patience, and continued business!šŸ˜
