We are hosting our first Celebration of Life today in The Bloom Room | Saint Joseph, MN and I can't help but feel all sorts of emotions over it.
Over the last few months, this family has been carrying the weight of an unimaginable loss. Because loved ones were traveling from different places, they chose to wait a few months before gathering together to celebrate a life that was gone far too soon.
Today, 75 people will walk through our doors to remember someone who clearly touched so many lives.
They wanted a place where everyone could bring her favorite foods, share stories, laugh, cry, reminisce, and simply be together. A place that felt private and comfortable. Not someone’s living room. Not the back room of a restaurant. Not a formal funeral home setting. Not a church.
Just a space to gather.
I knew there was a need for a place like this in Central Minnesota.
A place for all the other moments in life.
Since opening The Bloom Room, we’ve hosted dozens of baby and bridal showers, team-building days, retirement parties, graduations, and next week we’ll host our very first rehearsal dinner.
Today is our first Celebration of Life, and I don’t think it will be our last.
I see this space being a place where families gather after a funeral. A place to host the entire celebration itself. A place to tell old stories, remember favorite memories, and somehow begin making new ones together.
When I dreamed about what Sunny Mary Meadow could become, this was part of it.
Not just flowers. Not just events.
But a place where people could come together during some of life’s most meaningful moments.
Thank you to this family for trusting us with today. It is truly an honor to provide the space.
