🩷Remembering Dolly Parton 🩷
This one touches my heart. 😢 Growing up, Dolly Parton was someone I looked up to—not only because of her talent, but because of her joy, kindness, strength, generosity, and the way she encouraged people to dream.
One of the quotes I saw today said:
“She taught the world that kindness could sparkle, courage could sing, and dreams could rise from the mountains.”
That feels like such a beautiful description of the legacy she created.
One of my favorite things Dolly ever did was start the Imagination Library, giving children books from birth until their fifth birthday. 📚🥰 All three of my girls received those books, and they loved them. Month after month, a new book would arrive in our mailbox—a simple gift that encouraged reading, imagination, family time, and dreaming.
Looking back now, I realize what a beautiful example of legacy that really is. Dolly used what she had been given to make life a little better for people she would probably never meet—including three little girls growing up in our family. 💕
Another quote I came across today said:
“Strong women don’t tear each other down—they build each other up.”
I love that. Dolly seemed to understand that there is room for women to encourage one another, celebrate one another, and help the next generation become everything they were created to be.
Maybe that is one of the greatest lessons a life can leave behind:
✨ Be kind.
✨ Encourage others.
✨ Dream big.
✨ Give generously.
✨ And leave something behind that continues blessing people long after you’re gone.
Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the laughter, the books, the dreams—and especially for showing us what it can look like to use your gifts to lift others up. 💛📚🌸
That is a legacy.
And I’m especially grateful that a little piece of yours became part of my daughters’ childhood stories. 🥰
