We are 3 weeks away from opening for the season! The first planting of corn is tasseling. It won’t be long now! We will plant a few more lands of corn so we hopefully have it through Labor Day. This week we planted most of the pumpkins and should finish planting them tomorrow. Tomatoes and other veggies are looking good as well. We will update you as we get closer to opening.

UPDATE! UPDATE!
They found it! It was stuck not too far away near the gravel pit. A huge thank you to the Licking County Sheriff’s office and Deputy Snowed who located it. Also, the support from you all was more than we imagined. It is so gratifying to know we have so much support. Thank you all so much.

Urgent request for those in the St. Louisville and surrounding area! We just had the side by side we use for much of what we do on the farm STOLEN! It was taken from the field between 4:30 and 6:15 this evening. It’s blue with a black top and has Kymco on the tailgate. PLEASE SHARE as wide as possible. We really need this back. If anyone sees it please contact the licking county sheriffs office. Thanks.

Just a quick update. We’ve been able to get 6 plantings of corn in. The first few are up but the colder than normal temps (especially at night) has slowed the growth down. We just planted our first land of white sweet corn! The plan is to have 2 or 3 more plantings of it. The ground is just about ready to plant tomatoes. The early ones should be in the ground within a week! Believe it or not, we are also thinking of pumpkins already. We started working that ground up. It won’t be long before we have fresh produce for you. Keep watching for updates!

The first planting of sweet corn is IN THE GROUND! The weather has been cooperating. We plan to get more planted this week. It won’t be long now!

We were able to disc the main corn field today for the first time! We would have liked another day for it to dry out but there is a chance of rain the rest of the week. We’ll go over it a couple more times to work in the fertilizer then it will be ready to plant. If the weather cooperates we would like to plant some sweet corn in early April! Fingers crossed 🤞.

Well, for the most part, we came through the wind storm in good shape. Unfortunately the greenhouse didn’t. The outside layer of poly ripped all the way across. We are working to find someone to get it fixed before another storm hits it. Fingers crossed!

We hope everyone had a Happy New Year and made it through the snow storm yesterday. We are working on digging out like everyone else. Here at the farm, we got just under 11 inches (using the official ruler😁). If it makes you feel better, we should be working up the fields in a couple months and planting not long after. Stay safe and warmer weather is on the way, just not this week!
