❗️SOLD OUT - August 6 ❗️

Y’all… we are absolutely blown away.

We opened the stand this morning, and in just 5 minutes, every dozen of eggs was gone!

Thank you for showing up, supporting our little farm, and choosing local. Every carton you purchase helps us continue building the dream we’ve been working so hard to create here at SSSS Farms.

Now it’s time to let our hardworking girls catch up. They can only lay so fast, and thanks to your incredible support, they’re officially working overtime!

We’ll restock as soon as the ladies have filled the nest boxes again. Keep an eye on our page for updates—we’ll let you know the moment fresh eggs are back in the stand.

🍪 Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! 🍪

We wish we could celebrate with fresh-baked cookies… but our kitchen is still under repair!

So we’ll leave the baking to you! 😉 Stop by The Common Ground Farm Stand at SSSS Farms and grab a dozen of our farm-fresh eggs—the secret ingredient to soft, delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Why aren’t our eggs refrigerated?

The answer is actually pretty neat!

Freshly laid eggs naturally have a protective coating called the “bloom” (or cuticle). This invisible layer seals the shell’s tiny pores and helps keep bacteria out while locking moisture in.

Because the bloom is still intact, unwashed farm-fresh eggs can safely be stored at room temperature for several weeks in a cool, dry place.

Once eggs are washed, that protective bloom is removed. At that point, they must be refrigerated and kept cold just like grocery store eggs.

Unwashed Farm Fresh Eggs
• Bloom intact
• Can be stored on the counter for two weeks
• Refrigerate if you prefer—but once refrigerated, keep them refrigerated.

Washed Eggs
• Washed before sale
• Bloom removed
• Must stay refrigerated and can last up to 2 months

Our eggs are sold unwashed so the natural bloom remains intact. We recommend giving them a quick wash just before you’re ready to use them.

Nature designed eggs with their own packaging long before refrigerators existed!

We’re Open!

Today marks a milestone that has been on our hearts for a long time.

We’re so excited to officially welcome you to The Common Ground Farm Stand at SSSS Farms!

If we’re being honest, this isn’t exactly how we imagined our grand opening.

Our original plan was to open with fresh baked goods, garden produce, flowers, and so much more. But life had other plans. An unexpected kitchen repair and renovation meant putting our baking on hold, and our garden struggled this summer season.

For a little while, it was easy to feel discouraged. We wondered if we should wait until everything was “perfect.”

Sometimes, God has a way of reminding us that growth doesn’t always happen the way we expect. For us, that reminder came through our hens, faithfully filling the nesting boxes each day.

Every single day, they continue to provide an abundance of beautiful eggs. It felt like a gentle reminder that sometimes you don’t have to wait until every piece of the puzzle is in place. Sometimes it’s okay to start with what you have and trust that the rest will come in time.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing.

This may not be the full vision for The Common Ground Farm Stand, but it’s the beginning of it.

Our dream is still the same—to create a place where our community can stop by for fresh eggs, seasonal produce, homemade baked goods, flowers, and other locally grown and handcrafted items. We hope to bring that vision to life this fall, and we can’t wait to share that journey with you.

Until then, our wonderful hens are helping us take the very first step.
