One last chance!

🐛🌽 OH, WE’VE GOT WORMS! 🌽🐛

Well… our final planting decided to give us a little extra trouble this year. 😂

Today is the LAST DAY of the season, and we’re selling ALL of our remaining sweet corn at HALF PRICE!

🌽 1 dozen: $5
🌽 ½ dozen: $3
🌽 Gunny sack (4 dozen): $20

We only have a small amount left, so we will probably sell out QUICK! If you want one last batch of Fresh Pickins sweet corn, come early!

We are still sorting through the corn and doing our best to catch the affected ears, but this is the only corn we have left for the season and we’re seeing more corn earworm than we normally do.

These worms are small caterpillars that nibble on the end of the cob. If you find one, simply cut off the affected end and the rest of the cob is still good to eat.

Some years we hardly see any at all, but this final late-season planting has more than usual. We just want to be upfront with our customers about what you may find and why we’re offering the corn at half price.

🌽 GOOD NEWS! WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE SWEET CORN! 🌽

After taking a closer look at our final planting, we’re happy to say we’ll be able to bring a little more Fresh Pickins sweet corn to you!

We’re planning to start picking this planting Wednesday, September 16, and we’ll take it day by day from there. If the corn continues to look good and the planting produces well, we may continue picking through Friday.

📍 We’re expecting to have our Champlin & Chanhassen locations open, 10 AM–6 PM

🌽 Gunny sacks (4 dozen) will be $30, and individual dozens will be $10.

🍅 Our homegrown tomatoes will also be available in bulk for $30.

One quick note: We’re seeing a little more corn earworm in this final planting than we normally see. These are small caterpillars that can nibble on the end of an ear. We’ll continue sorting as carefully as possible, but if you happen to find one, there is nothing wrong with the rest of the cob. Simply cut off the affected end and the rest is still perfectly good to eat.

From our family to yours, thank you for another great year at the corn stand! We will miss you all just as much as we will miss the flavorful, fresh produce! 😭 Truly, it’s our incredible customers that make the grind 100% worth it. We love you.

A very special thank you to the amazing Bouwman family at Fresh Pickin's, and their hard-working crew, for providing us with the wonderful produce that we get to enjoy for a couple of glorious months out of the year. We miss it already!

A special shout-out to Magic Water and Plumbing for allowing us to camp out in their parking lot for the season. You are a great crew!

Thank you also to Goldfish Gardens for providing beauty at the stand. It was fun to hear all of the ways your delightful bouquets brought joy to so many people.

Cal-Apiaries, your honey is simply the best—thank you. I know there is an art to beekeeping, and you do it well!

A very special thank you to all of our customers who spread the word about Fresh Pickin’s. We just couldn’t stay in business without you. Thank you for keeping the corn craze going strong!

Last but not least…the dogs. It’s my favorite thing to see you pull up to the stand with your heads hanging out of the window, all excited to get your treat. Keep driving your “parents” crazy. You better come see me next year!

One more thing and then I’ll shut up. Be like corn. Huh? All season long, we had the privilege of seeing corn, of all things, bring people together: neighbors grabbing corn to share with neighbors, friends grabbing corn to share with friends, family grabbing corn to share with family, coworkers grabbing corn to share with coworkers, etc. Our customers have taken Fresh Pickin’s corn to 18 states (that we know of) plus Canada because they want to share something they love. EVERY DAY we saw multiple people purposefully go out of their way to do something kind for someone else. Don’t let the MSM convince you that we are all divided. Our community is pretty great. We witnessed so much good that people were doing for each other on a regular basis. What was the common denominator? Corn! Be like corn. 😁

🍅 BULK TOMATOES AVAILABLE TODAY! 🍅

We have boxes of our beautiful, homegrown tomatoes available at all four locations today for $30 per box! These are our own tomatoes, grown right here in Brooklyn Park. 🍅

Perfect if you’ve been wanting to can or freeze tomatoes, make tomato sauce, tomato soup, salsa, or anything else you’ve been waiting to make with fresh tomatoes.

We have a good amount available and would love to see them put to good use instead of going to waste at the end of the season!
