When you have animals, you must have hay. Cheers to hay day!

This is the first time I have ever NOT carried hay bales off the trailer. Instead, I counted bales with my pen and notebook in hand (seen as I dropped my phone at the end).

I was tasked with counting bales so I could properly pay the farmer who grew and baled the hay.

117 bales, in case you’re curious 😂😂.

That will last my animals about 40 days. 👀

Here’s another video of our cute new Jersey milk cow, Cocoa 🐄❣️ meeting Tea and her baby Rosebud, through the fence.

We planned to keep her separate from the other cows for a few days to see how they would interact with a fence between them.

But Cocoa just walked up and down the fence mooing and then the other cows would come visit her for a while and then go back to grazing. Cocoa seemed distraught being seperated.

This continued for hours, until finally, farmer Andy and I opened the gate, walked through with her, and watched closely for a long time.

They integrated beautifully and everyone was much, much calmer (especially Cocoa). ✨

It doesn’t always work out like this, but I’m really grateful everyone got along instantly this time!! 🥰🥰🥰

Aaaaand welcome to Asguard Farms, Cocoa 🐄, our new dairy cow❣️❣️❣️

She will be one year old on 10/25 💥

Now we have Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa ☕️😂. And I didn’t name any of them!! They were just meant to be together 🥰🥰🥰

Welcome Cocoa 🤎🤍🧡

Farm work still needs to get done…. Even with our impending charity golf tournament!

We are doing something exciting to the cow pasture… something I will reveal next Wednesday 😃😃😃

It may or may not include a new animal 👀🤩

See you tomorrow at the tournament!! ⛳️

It was sheep shearing day! 🐑 Josh sheared 8 sheep in under 45 minutes 💥

Don’t worry about Miss Maggie’s position here. She is not being hurt at all.

Having the sheep sit on their bottoms keeps them unable to move as much (which means they are calmer) and less likely to hurt themselves while they are being sheared.

Everyone is much lighter and now the process begins again— picking through the wool to get the little bits out so I can send it in for more yarn 🤩 🧶 ❣️

Happy shearing day, farm friends!

Happy day! ☀️ Except for David, crying in the background because he didn’t get to go for a walk with the girls (I’m not interested in winter babies!!) 🐐

I always feel so much better after a walk, more energized, more calm, more productive. Aaaaaand, the goats and sheep sure make it more entertaining. But even without them, I love a good walk.

Livestock are not target practice. These animals are for fiber and milk, not meat. Move on sheep and goats!! You’re blocking my target 😂😂
