This isn’t just a sale.
It’s the first of its kind in the U.S.—a sale modeled after the South African-style Dorper/White Dorper inspection and auction system. Every animal. Every bid. Earned.
All entries will be evaluated (typed) by three certified South African inspectors using the official Dorper/White Dorper Breed Standard—the same system that governs structural soundness, longevity, and true breed character in Dorper sheep across the globe.
⸻
✅ Why Typing Matters
Each animal is evaluated against the traits that have made the Dorper one of the most adaptable, structurally sound, and efficient meat breeds in the world. Typing protects that legacy—ensuring this remains a working line built for longevity, not just appearance.
Animals are typed 1–5:
• Type 3 – Commercial utility. May have minor cosmetic or structural variation but can still be productive for a market flock.
• Type 4 – Stud quality.
• Type 5 – Elite. Structurally correct, well-balanced, and an ideal representation of the breed.
• Cull animals (those with structural faults or defects) will NOT sell.
⸻
Animals are evaluated moving freely in the ring, allowing inspectors to assess:
• Structural correctness & movement (feet, legs, shoulders)
• Reproductive traits (testicles, udder, v***a)
• Sexual dimorphism (rams must appear masculine; ewes feminine)
• Overall balance and proportionality
• Breed character and adherence to the standard
All animals will be thoroughly vet checked.
⸻
💡 What Makes This Sale Different
We’re creating a level playing field where buyers can trust what they see—and what they buy.
• Next year’s sales order is determined by the average price of each breeder’s top three animals.
🔥 The market—not politics—sets the pace.
• If a reserve is not met, it will be announced to the audience— transparency, no confusion.
• Bid collusion or manipulation will result in disqualification and loss of future eligibility.
⸻
🧬 Entry Standards
Animals must be either:
• Out of a Type 5 ewe, or previously typed as a 5 themselves.
• This doesn’t mean every animal offered will be a Type 5—but we’re raising the baseline to elevate breed quality in the U.S.
• No culls sell. No exceptions.
• All animals must be fullblood registered
Why fullblood matters:
Fullblood registration guarantees that an animal’s genetics are 100% Dorper—no hidden or mixed breed influence.
• In crossbreeding systems, this provides true hybrid vigor.
• In fullblood programs, it offers predictability, consistency, and long-term genetic integrity.

📖 This Sale Aligns with the Breed Standard—Not Trends
🔥 This is a return to the original intent of the Dorper: a functional, adaptable, efficient meat breed selected for performance—not polish.
Buyers leave with confidence. Sellers earn credibility. The breed moves forward.
