The Shroomapalooza dinner menu is here!!
Most mushroom events end when the walk ends. Shroomapalooza doesn’t.
We’ll spend the weekend foraging, learning to identify what we find, eating wild food, enjoying music around the fire and camping together near Spooner, Wisconsin. Now I can finally share what we’ll be serving for Saturday night’s wild dinner:
Wild Mushroom Tempura
Foraged mushrooms in a light, shatter-crisp batter with soy-ginger dipping sauce.
Foraged Mushroom Salad
Crisp greens dressed in a bright pickled-mushroom vinaigrette.
Herb-Crusted Grilled Pork Loin
Sliced off the fire and served with a slow wild-mushroom ragu and smashed potatoes finished in garlic mushroom butter.
Vegetarian and pork-free option
Wood-Fired Portobello with sautéed wild mushrooms, wilted spinach and melted cheese.
Warm Wild Plum Crisp
Served warm under a buttery oat crumble.
The dinner is only one part of the sixth annual Shroomapalooza weekend, September 18–20 at Scenic View Campground near Spooner. Your ticket also includes guided mushroom forays, identification instruction, wild-food meals, a Sunday cooking demonstration and two nights of tent camping.
