Bringing my favorite browned eyes son back to River Falls today and stopped by the lovely Barlow Roots Market in Hudson.

Local foods are all around us if we remember to keep our eyes peeled and really the tastiest, safest, most nutritient dense food choices out there. It also supports the small family farms that work so so hard to coax goodness from the very dry soil this year.

Buy local, shop local, know your farmer and only good comes of that mindset 😊

My very talented sister Lisa did her first ever seed art for the Minnesota State Fair this year and I think it is just AMAZING!!

She wanted to honor sweet Marjorie Johnson because the Blue Ribbon Baker meant a lot to us ❤️ I just love Lisa's attention to detail and I can't get over how much it looks like Marjorie!! 🥰

We've been loving all the beautiful local flowers this season, it's a darn near miracle the farmers can coax anything to grow in this silly drought summer.

We have had more and more shoppers coming in looking for bigger statement bouquets so starting this week we will continue having our usual lovely bouqs at the $19.95 and $29.95 price point but we will also have some super luxe bouquets in the $55 and $75 dollar range so toodle on in and nab one of these lovely bunches for a little wowza. 😊

Autumn nudging its way in today....these beautiful honeyboat squash arrived from our favorite Amish farmers in The Osceola area.

Made some delicious, easy yogurt chia puddings today on Twin Cities Live. Oodles of protein, a great amount of fiber from the chia seeds.

Chia Yogurt Pudding
If you make a base you can mix a million different variants in daily to make each days chia pudding unique. Perfect for breakfast, snack or even dessert.

Base
2 C plain yogurt
1/3 C milk (I used almond milk)
3 TB chia seeds
1 tsp maple syrup
citrus zest (lemon, lime or orange are yummy)

Mix together and pop into fridge. Ready after just a couple hours.
If you don't like the chia seed texture you can buzz all ingredients up in your blender and the seeds will get broken up.

Monkey Business
Into 1 C base stir
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 additional tsp maple syrup
1 mashed banana
top with walnuts

Berry Yummy
Into 1 C base add 1/4 C mashed raspberries or raspberry sauce
top with fresh raspberries and blackberries and pecans

These will last in the fridge up to five days
Keep chia seeds in fridge for freshness
These are all high protein and good on the fiber content so filling and nutrient dense.
