Breaking Bread Homestead

Breaking Bread Homestead Hi, I’m Kelly. Breaking Bread Homestead is built on faith, fellowship, and fresh bread. Items I bake and sell are homemade and not subject to state inspection.

Inspired by my grandmother and her amazing bread and over 20 years of baking, Breaking Bread Homestead is rooted in Acts 2:42 and built on faith, fellowship, and fresh bread—made to be shared. Inspired by Acts 2:42, the name reflects a simple and meaningful way of life—one where people gather, share meals, and find connection around the table. I have been baking for over 15 years, learning early o

n that bread is about more than ingredients. My grandmother, who faithfully made homemade bread, was my first inspiration and showed me how food can be an act of love and hospitality. Today, I continue that tradition by focusing on back-to-basics baking, wholesome ingredients, and creating bread meant to be shared. At the heart of everything I do is Jesus, and a desire to serve others by welcoming them to the table. I am a registered cottage food producer under the Cottage Food Exemption in Minnesota.

The weather is getting warmer, so that prompted me to start fermenting some tasty beverages.

The brown liquid is kombucha and the yellowish chunky one is a ginger bug.

I love to try new kombucha flavors and the ginger bug will be used for ginger ale and root beer.

Long before I started making sourdough bread, I baked yeast bread. My gramma Jeanne's recipe was the best bread ever!

This is a test batch of a white bread that is similar to hers but a touch faster. If it's successful, this will be added to my regular offering!
