The Urban Canning Company The Urban Canning Company is based in St. Petersburg, Florida. It is owned and operated by Illene Sofranko and managed by Sam Steele.

We offer one of a kind, hand crafted and naturally preserved foods such as jams, pickles, beer mustards, sriracha and sauerkraut.. We specialize in interesting flavor compositions and utilize only the freshest produce. During Florida farming season we work closely with local farms and highlight many seasonal limited small batch preserves. Our products are preserved using traditional methods so you

won't find any artificial ingredients of any kind in our jars! Our kitchen also has a tasting room and retail where we sell canning supplies and a variety of our heirloom foods. Out of our space we teach canning classes and host homesteading workshops as well.

📣 Update for you folks! The last month has been an unexpected whirlwind and today we have to begin packing up the shop to be out by the weekend. You won’t find us at any markets going forward. Once we are moved out we will begin replying to all our customer service inquiries and wrapping up our online orders! Thanks for your patience! ANNOUNCEMENT! WE ARE CLOSING!
Hey all! It's Illene here, founder of The Urban Canning Company. I just want to take a moment to let you all know that in the next couple months after almost 6 years of business, The Urban Canning Company will be closing up shop. I was very transparent a year a half ago when our building was bought and our rent was doubled that I wasn't sure how we were going to survive. With the help of friends and family we managed to just squeak by, but cannot any longer. If you are fans of our product, make sure to come out to the Saturday Morning Market and The Indie Flea over the next month and stock up.

We’re pumped to be back at the Indie Flea St. Pete Street Faire this Saturday from 11a-4p with lots of limited goodies for you 🤗 But, we’re even more excited that METRO Youth Programs is being featured this month! METRO is such an important program for our community, and you’ll have the opportunity to donate to them all day. Your donations will help provide LGBTQ teens with a safe and inclusive environment.
