It all started with a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico in summer of 2016. Upon our arrival we immediately were engulfed with a delightful tropical breeze, a light salt water scent in the air accompanied with irresistibly fresh food aromas which made our mouths water. We couldn’t get enough... An abundance of freshly prepared salsas and hot sauces were a must with every meal.
After returning home I was inspired to create a spicy goodness myself and started experimenting with different ingredients. Lots of hot peppers, different varieties of fruits and an array of spices filled my kitchen counters and pots. With family, friends and co-workers being my excited Guinea pigs for all my plentiful creations of hot sauces, one particular recipe started to take shape. I started receiving comments like: “ Kat! You need to sell this stuff!” This gave me something to consider. Some research and fine tuning the recipe was in order and soon thereafter Smokin’ Mango Hot Sauce was born.
