After telling the squatter on their old nest sight what she thought of him, she has directed her mate to start building on the platform we put in the tree above the barn for them. She tends to sit over on the old nesting pole yelling out instructions on where to place each stick as he spends the cooler hours of the day bringing them in. She'll come and inspect every so often. we're glad they've reconsidered. They aren't interested in any of our livestock and they chase the eagles away, (which is never boring to watch) so our chickens should be safe as a result!
