The 2022 calving season kicked off with a bang. This beautiful dark red heifer with a heart on her forehead arrived out of "Maui" Casey 5-153 and our Beefmaster herd Matriarch, PVF Sophie 411, who always raises an outstanding calf. She knew it was time, too. Her last several calves have come after her journey to the barn and this one was no different. Even more special; this marks year 170 in operation when Thompson Cattle Co began, where O Bar Beefmasters was derived from. This heifer kicked off one of the best (believed to come) calving seasons in all 170 years, with the performance blood that we have within the herd and the bull now. I'll take it as a sign of good faith by our ancestors that stuck it out prior to allow us to fuel our passion, via that heart she came bearing that they approve and smiling down. Let's pray that the rest arrive an smooth and effortlessly as this one. Great job, Sophie!

It's a blessed day for O Bar Beefmasters. These two E6 heifers that are bred to our Casey bull (Maui/Casey 5-153) and due to calve March-April are off to a new home. The two of them should raise outstanding calves for years to cone. They are going to some great friends of our family/operation, Erin and Mason Hood, to help build their herd. We thank them for the business and confidence in our program!

There is just something about that contrast of that Beefmaster red and green grass in the morning sun. Maui (Casey 5-153) was just relieved from our 60 day breeding season last weekend. He is looking great! We can't wait to see his calves hit the ground.

This is a young bull that we raised, Hercules, located in Caldwell, Texas. We are very proud of him! He is also gentle as a Labrador.

O Bar Beefmasters would like to thank Brad Dawson for his purchase of O Bar 046 aka "George" and his confidence in our program and genetics. He was a trooper getting wormed, tagged and tattooed before his ride got here. George is off to service a commercial herd of Charolais and Angus girls in a nearby town. He should produce some scale smashing calves! It will be nice to pop in and visit him and see his calf crop. He is going to a great home and cattleman. Make us proud, George.

We would like to thank Bruce Collins from Buffalo, TX for making the trip down to Salado and purchasing this young bull from us today for his commercial herd. We don't really have a name for him, my young son and niece referred to him as "Pancake Syrup" and it has kinda stuck around the homeplace 😂🤷‍♂️, but he is a very clean, easy going bull with excellent length and little scurrs that has held up very well on grass and hay alone. He has never seen feed and will eat cubes out of your hand.

Buster 260 x PVF Sophie 411, one of our very best cows and the matriarch of our Beefmaster herd.

Go make us proud, buddy. Thank you, Mr. Collins for your confidence in our program! We look forward to seeing his calves that you get.
