Chance and Caesar have been buds since the beginning, helped by Caesar licking Chance’s face clean, after he finished his bottle of warm milk. They still prefer to eat together…

Okay…we’re just days away from this year’s Hamilton County Fair, with more than ever and something for everyone. The fair kicks off Friday evening, with the Outlaw Rodeo, from 7-9:30PM, and as all weekend, the Showbarn and Agriculture Area will open, so come by and visit with Chance, the Alpaca, and his friends, from Chew Chew Alpacas. The carnival rides, will also be running and FREE, all throughout the fair.

Saturday, the gates open at 11AM, with a variety of activities, throughout the day, featuring 3 Lumberjack Shows, starting a 11:30, 2:15 and 3:25. Pig races are slated to start at 2:50 and 4PM, all taking place in Frontierland. The rodeo returns at noon, and there’s a Pie Eating Contest scheduled for 4:30, on the Farm Bureau Stage.

The Farm Bureau Stage will also be hosting the Emerald Butler Band at noon, with Randy Steele & High Cold Wind, at 1:30. The Dr. Pepper (Main) Stage will feature Brandon Davis, returning to the fair, at 5:45 and Diamond Rio will take the stage at 7:00.

Also on Sunday, from 11-2:00, these a Horse Show in the rodeo arena, with ribbons going to the top 4 winners.

Of course, there will be a variety of food and crafts vendors, throughout the weekend, plus the livestock and agriculture competition will be on display, throughout the fair. Little Debbie returns, as the main sponsor of the event, with “Life-Sized Snack Cakes”, having set records for their snacks, the last two years.

There will be pony rides and garden club competitions, a Little Miss Cowgirl & Little Boss Cowboy costume contest, carnival games, and so much more, for the kids and the whole family. If you’ve never been to one before, there’s never been a better time, and if you have, this one will be bigger and better than ever before, so you won’t want to pass this up.

Ed, the “runaway zebra”, thought he’d blend in. Some were curious, while others were confused, and a couple just turned their backs to him, so I doubt he’ll hang around long.

Heard the Sandhill cranes nearby, by the water behind the farm, and thought back to when they visited regularly during their migration. A few of the many that returned were recognizable enough they had names.
