Between 2:15 and 2;30 Diamond finally started pushing in earnest. I had gone to the house to warm up some milk for Hank and got him fed. When I got back to the barn, she had part of an amniotic sac out. I watched her push a couple of times and saw nothing. I had a feeling something was wrong. So I reached in to check. Guess what I felt?
Did you guess a tail? If you did, you're correct. Also, she wasn't dilated completely. So, I put gentle pressure on her cervix to help finish dilating. Then, I repositioned baby's feet one at a time. Then, we (Diamond and I) had to hurry getting baby out because baby was backward. You have to make sure baby doesn't try to breathe too early as well as that cord snapped before I got her all the way out. Thankfully, baby girl is OK. Gave her to mama Diamond to clean off because brother was coming right behind. Diamond took a break and licked off the first two. Then, number 3 was ready.
Everyone is healthy. We ended up with 2 girls and 1 boy.
