GeerCrest Farm & Historical Society

GeerCrest Farm & Historical Society GeerCrest Farm's mission is to nurture personal growth and learning through farm life, nature, and local history.

GeerCrest Farm is a historic homestead east of Salem, Oregon established in 1848. Since 2007, GeerCrest farm has offered farm life experience programs to families, school and individuals of all ages. Those who come learn about the process of growing, preserving, and sharing food, the care of animals, land-based community, and land stewardship, gaining a sense of their place in time and community.

In addition to learning information and hands-on skills, engaging on our homestead often invokes a sense of timelessness and connection. We see our organization as part of a global movement of those re-learning and re-storing our human culture to embody peace, inclusion, and a regenerative relationship with our home, the earth.

Thank you Silverton Country Historical Society! We think about Florinda on a daily basis here, as the "Riding Whip Tree" (a Black Cottonwood) she planted here at GeerCrest in 1854 is still alive, although in its final stages.
