It's been a very wet spring so far and tonight we had strong storms and tornado sirens going off (video is of the back yard and field). Nothing touched down here at the Speakeasy Garlic Farm in Salem, lots of rain and wind...thinking of our friends to the North in Sussex...looks like they had one on the ground...

A beautiful morning at the Speakeasy Garlic Farm! And, 2,378 plants (put in last October) have awakened and are on their way! Stay tuned for more updates. Scapes will usually be ready in early/mid June, garlic bulbs in July!Thank you to everyone who supported us last year, looking forward to seeing you again!😃

Scapes are beginning to curl in Salem,WI! Garlic farmers everywhere know this is the beginning of our harvest season and we are excited! Garlic bulbs are coming soon! Support your local garlic farmer, they are growing one of the most healthy foods for you and your family!

First day of spring and we have liftoff at the Speakeasy Garlic Farm in Zone 5b! The amateur photoshop attempt is in honor of my brother who works at NASA!! You rock Kurt!

Winter update: 2,567 naturally grown garlic cloves safe under their winter blanket! Can’t wait for spring scapes and late June or July harvest! We will have the following available: Persian Star, Kislik, Chesnok Red, Island Star, Music, Pehoski Purple, and German Extra Hardy. 👍

Our garlic won the blue ribbon at the Kenosha County Fair this week! We aim to grow (naturally) the best local garlic for our community! Many thanks to the judges who volunteer their time and to all who help put on the fair every year!

Garlic is Rockin and Rollin this year! Harvested over 800 scapes so far with about 700 to go! We will be harvesting bulbs early due to the mild winter...I am guessing we will start pulling the last week in June or first week in July. However, we all know that the garlic will tell us when to pull👍

Garlic Philosophy 101: "As you w**d the garlic, be prepared for feedback from those around you"😂 The wren who just laid her eggs in the birdhouse who is shouting instructions at me, the garter snake making sure I didn't take away too much of it's favorite hiding places, and the doe among the wild flowers in the back field supervising from afar. We are blessed with so much nature around us! 😀
