Producer-Members have demonstrated a commitment to dry agriculture and responsible water management practices. To this end they do not grow or purchase grapes from irrigated vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Producer-Members who purchase fruit outside the Willamette Valley strive to obtain fruit from non-irrigated vineyards and, where not possible, seek to obtain fruit from vineyard owners who practice responsible water management with the ultimate model being non-irrigation of vines. Producer-Members will strive to produce wines of merit that demonstrate the principles associated with the Deep Roots Coalition. These principles include reduced yields and adherence to one of several low-impact viticultural programs (LIVE, Organic, Bio Dynamic, Salmon-Safe, etc.). Producer-Members commit to educating the public with regard to responsible water management practices and sustainable farming. To this end, Members are encouraged to collect data and anecdotes on irrigated versus non-irrigated vineyards in order to facilitate a rational discussion on the issue of water use. Applicant Producer-Members must be approved by an eighty percent vote for acceptance by the General Membership of the Deep Roots Coalition. Current membership: (February 2014)

“Fundraiser Fridays” at Pairings Portland W**e Shop, featuring select drc w**eries all through March!

Help support the Deep Roots Coalition by joining Jeff Weissler at Pairings Portland W**e Shop, each Friday in March (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th) for a series of tastings of drc w**es. The Friday night tastings run from 5 to 8 pm, and they include 5 flights for $15. A percentage of the sales for this event will be donated to Deep Roots Coalition.
