Canning fanatics unite! It’s canning season! We’ve got lots of bulk items available for you.

For $35 a box, you can get peaches, apples, or slicing tomatoes! One bulk box is 20lbs. We also have Heirloom Tomatoes for $42 for a 20lb box.

Peaches are the Sweet Dream variety and are freestone. For apples we have Akane this weekend - a great saucing variety. More varieties coming soon.

The flavor of our slicing and heirloom tomatoes can’t be beat! The sauce made from them tastes like fresh garden tomatoes all winter long. It’s all our family uses on spaghetti all year!

We are open Monday through Saturday 9-6. Located at 7023 Sunnyview Rd NE Salem.

🍐 Asian Pears $1.25/lb for upick. $2/lb in the store. These crisp, firm pears make great pear butter and add a delicious fresh addition to charcuterie boards and fruit trays. Berry Pass scans valid for 4 upick pears.
👑 Triple Crown Blackberries $2.15/lb. Still quite a few available! Thornless vines make for easy picking.
🖤 Elderberries $8/lb for upick. Bring your own snippers and process these before consuming! Trim them by the cluster. Very potent antioxidants, vitamin C, and immune support. Not available for Berry Pass scans.

We have pumpkins! The first of our pumpkin crop is available. They are 49¢/lb on our porch. The patch isn’t quite open yet.

Heirloom tomatoes are in season! They are juicy and delicious. $3/lb in the store.

This week we would love to highlight a really fun apple variety. Devonshire Crimson Queen is a rare apple variety from the U.K. They have distinct berry notes in flavor, a softer texture, and can even be pink or red tinged inside! Each one is a little different, so buy a few to cut into and see if you get a pink one! $2/lb in our farm store.

Canning apple sauce? Making dried apples? Ask about our bulk boxes. They are $35 a box for 20lbs. Varieties available in bulk boxes may vary. Call or message us to see what kind of apples we have in bulk now.

Elderberries! We have them available for u-pick! Please bring your own snippers and cut stem clusters. Fordyce Farm is not organic, but no sprays have been applied to the elderberries. They are $12.50/lb for upick. We also have local raw honey available! If you’re making homemade elderberry syrup, raw honey is a great sweetener for its added health benefits.

Elderberries are known for their high vitamin C content and other immune boosting benefits. They should not be consumed raw, but the cooked berries can be used for many purposes. Check out this great article from a local tea maker on processing elderberries for syrup, including information on how to can the juice to be used for syrup later.

U-pick update!

🫐 Blueberries- still lots and good quality! $2.15/lb

👑 Triple crown blackberries- not a lot but nice quality. $2.15/lb

🖤 Currants- lots of red ones and a few black ones left. $2.15/lb

💜 Elderberries- lots. Nice quality. Bring your own snippers and trim the whole stem. Cook before consuming. $12.50/lb. NOT eligible for Marionberries Berry Pass.

🍎 Apples! Just started. We have Akane, Williams pride, and Chehalis currently. $1.25/lb. These are also available for the Marion berry pass. Limit of 4 apples a swipe.

Farm store. Apples, apples, apples! $2/lb in the store. We have several varieties from our heritage orchard in Scio! Come try a new-to-you variety. We guarantee you won’t find most of these in the grocery store. We have Akane, Williams’ Pride, Redfree, Gravenstein, Lubsk Queen, and Duchess of Oldenburg.

One fun variety to highlight this week is the Duchess of Oldenburg! While it’s a culinary apple generally great for pies and dried apples, it’s also a mild cider bitter. Don’t be thrown off by that term! We encourage you to try one and see how robust the flavor can be in a true culinary apple - quite a different experience than a run-of-the-mill grocery apple. This heirloom Russian apple of the 1700s is also in the family tree of the Honeycrisp apple. The Honeycrisp has a pollen parent variety called MN 1627 which carries the genetics of both Golden Delicious and Duchess of Oldenburg. Apple genetics are both complicated and fascinating!

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we highlight a new and unique apple variety each week!

We are located at 7023 Sunnyview Rd NE Salem. Open Monday through Saturday 8-6.
