Big Things are Coming to The News of Salem County! 📰
We know we’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, and we want to sincerely apologize for the radio silence. Behind the scenes, our team has been working around the clock to build something truly special for our community.
Our brand-new website is nearing the finish line, and it is our most expansive project yet. We are making the site's design, layout, and overall user experience our #1 priority to ensure this platform portrays our community and our company with the excellence you deserve and that we strive for.
Here is a sneak peek at what’s coming:
✅ 15 Local Municipality Pages: Dedicated editions for every corner of the county, featuring localized content and community event calendars.
✅ Integrated School Calendars: Local school and district-wide events will be conveniently displayed right within your municipality’s calendar.
✅ User-Friendly Design: A seamless experience whether you are browsing on your PC or on the go with your mobile device.
✅ Enhanced FREE Obituaries Section: A respectful, easy-to-navigate space featuring the past couple of months of listings already added. The ability to subscribe to them, add tributes/comments, funeral home information, and more!
✅ Community Engagement: New commenting functionality will allow you to join the conversation directly on our articles.
✅ Subscription Benefits: Gain full access to our obituaries and the site in general, plus we are hard at work developing weekly and bi-weekly email newsletters for our subscribers. Future long term functions will include subscription capabilities on Facebook as well with exclusive content access, unique business and advertising specials, plus many other features.
✅ Smart Ad Server: A highly customizable experience of local and regional based advertisers that make sense for Salem County residents. Our ads are categorized by content, location, taxonomy, tags, & multiple other variables to ensure relevance—for example, we’ve ensured you won't see ma*****na ads on school district announcements.
✅ Already Loaded with Content: We already have over 30+ articles and news pieces published (including the ones you’ve seen here on Facebook) as well as nature and history pieces not yet shared onto social media with much more on the way.
✅ Future Classifieds: A dedicated space for local buying, selling, announcements, rentals and other community listings.
What’s next?
We are currently in the final stretch and hope to have the site live for testing before the end of this month, with the majority of the kinks worked out.
