Calling all small & midsize wool mill owners/operators: ASI is using a short survey to update the Small & Midsize Mill Directory and help guide future support for mills. This directory is heavily used by producers and customers to find mill services, so keeping your listing accurate matters.

If you receive the survey, please take a few minutes to respond.

ASI Executive Director Mike Michener recently wrapped up a productive week in Washington, D.C., representing the American sheep industry.

Throughout the week, Michener met with congressional agriculture staff, USDA leadership, allied agricultural organizations, processors, trade experts and industry partners to discuss key issues impacting sheep producers across the country.

Discussions focused on:

• Risk management tools for sheep producers
• Labor and H-2A challenges
• Predator control and animal health
• Trade and export opportunities
• Wool and lamb market development
• Support for producers of all sizes and regions

Michener noted the strong engagement from USDA, Capitol Hill and coalition partners, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration on shared agricultural priorities.

“The sheep industry may be smaller than some agricultural sectors, but our issues matter, our producers are resilient and our voice is strongest when we engage constructively,” said Michener.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet, share ideas and support the industry this week.
