We are a a husband and wife duo making candles, knits, bath, and home goods here on our 5th generation family farm. We are committed to quality. Hancock, Jr.

Culver Family Farms has its roots in the original Hancock farm founded in 1890. The farm grew and canned tomatoes starting in the kitchen and eventually expanded to a canning factory in Salem, NJ with a workforce of 200. When the next generation assumed management of the farm in 1906, the focus shifted to potatoes. Nicholas’ grandfather, William C. and his wife Jean, began farming in 1945 expandin

g the farm into a large, diversified vegetable operation. He was an early adopter of mechanical harvesting and was one of the first farmers in the area to use a mechanical tomato harvester. Nicholas continues the family tradition of hard work and innovation. He is a recent graduate of Cornell University majoring in Agriculture Science. He has experience in production agriculture utilizing both organic and traditional farming methods. He utilizes sustainable growing and conservation practices to build soil health, minimize soil borne disease and insect pressure, conserve water usage and minimize water runoff. Hydroponic growing methods are also used which allow for efficient and sustainable year-round production in small areas. The farm also employs integrated pest management practices. Crops in the greenhouse currently include hydroponic lettuce, living basil, arugula, mint, parsley, cilantro, oregano, and stevia. Crops in the field currently include sweet corn and grain. The farm is headquartered in beautiful and historic Mannington Township, NJ along the Bayshore Heritage Scenic Byway. The farm enterprise has expanded to over 150 acres and contains two farmsteads both of which are listed on the State and National Register of Historical Places.
