Hires Avenue Community Garden Come GROW with US! The added benefit is the conversion of vacant lot into an aesthetically-pleasing green space.

The mission of the Salem City Community Garden project is to provide city residents with the opportunity to come together to create something that will benefit our community and promote a sense of empowerment and accomplishment in those involved. We want to educate city residents on how to start and maintain a small garden filled with fruits, produce, and herbs, at a very low cost, which the parti

cipating residents will then be able to take home to their families and neighbors. We hope to reach out to the city's youth and get them involved in something productive, beneficial, and positive—teaching them that if you put in the time and effort, regardless of your age or position, you can make a positive impact in your community.
