MARKET UPDATE — SALEM SATURDAY CANCELED

We woke up this morning to discover that the water main in our shop burst overnight, leaving the shop flooded. Unfortunately, we need to cancel our attendance at the Salem Saturday Market today while we deal with the damage and get things cleaned up.

If you were planning to shop with us today, you can still place an order online for:

• Monday pickup/delivery in Yamhill County
• Tuesday pickup/delivery in Salem

The good news: we are fully restocked on all of our pasture-raised chicken products, including whole chickens and cuts.

We’re sorry to miss our Salem neighbors today, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and support while we get the farm shop back in order.

🌿 Farm Cleanup & Ice Cream Social 🍦🫐

Join us for an afternoon of community, fresh air, and a little hard work followed by a well-earned treat.
🧹 Farm Cleanup: 2:00–4:00 PM
Help us tidy up the farm, pull a few weeds, spruce up the grounds, and prepare for the busy blueberry season ahead. Whether you can stay for 30 minutes or the full two hours, every helping hand makes a difference.
🍦 Ice Cream Social: 4:00–6:00 PM
After the work is done, we’ll gather for ice cream, good conversation, and time with neighbors and friends.
🫐 Blueberry Picking
As a thank you for helping out, everyone who joins the cleanup is invited to head into the blueberry field and leave with as many blueberries as they can pick.
Bring work gloves, comfortable clothes, and a smile. We’d love to spend the afternoon with you and celebrate another season on the farm.

Very interesting poll results. I am not joking when I say…

”Do you want to buy my farm property so I can keep farming and not have to focus on my mortgage note?”

I did a poll the other day and it brought up some good points.
Out of about 2000 people more then 1/2 of them are over the age of 51.
Age 51 and older shop farm stands.

Convenience Was the biggest reason why people don’t.

It’s interesting to think about. Our world has gotten so busy that we stopped thinking about the people who put food on our tables and just get it from the stores.
Who do most stores buy from. Large farms! Why, they sell it to them cheaper than the small farm can.

I’m asked all the time what would save our small farms?
Shop at their stands.
Support the small stands!
Buy the farm

Pay your farmers what they are worth!
Then we can pay our bill and keep farming.

We are way past the convenience of food. It’s now a time where we the farmers need people to put their money where their mouth is.

It’s the food you put in it.
If everyone who could buy local eggs, milk raw or pasteurized, meat and vegetables all the farmers would be better off.

Local means from stores, stands, farmers markets. Just make sure you are supporting the people in your area.

Jelly disappeared for a few days and came back this morning like nothing happened… with 14 poults in tow.

Turns out she wasn’t missing—she was busy becoming a mom.

One determined turkey hen, fourteen healthy babies, and a reminder that sometimes the best things on the farm happen when nobody is watching.

Just the lift of joy I needed this morning.
