It’s not too late to honor Anne Marie ♥️🙌🏻
Over 100 people attended the celebration of life for Anne Marie last Wednesday. It meant a lot to her Illinois family to see how much love and appreciation for Anne Marie there is among her Oregon Farm Bureau family.
We want to thank Northwest Farm Credit Services for the large donation of $25,000 to get the scholarship started. We also want to send out a very special thank you to all county FBs and individuals who have contributed or pledged to the OFB Memorial Scholarship endowment honoring Anne Marie. Your contributions make a difference and have greatly honored Anne Marie's memory.
We have received over 80 pledges or contributions. Gifts and pledges have come from coast to coast in the US and as far away as Italy. As of last Wednesday, the endowment has raised over $80,000. That money will be invested, and its proceeds will be used to help college students starting with the 2023-24 academic year.
To honor her this coming school year, the scholarship committee funded a $1,000 scholarship in Anne Marie's name, and by some providence, it was awarded to an ag communications major.
Umatilla-Morrow County Farm Bureau has graciously started their own local $1000 scholarship award honoring Anne Marie, and other counties have decided to pledge varying amounts to be donated over the course of multiple years so that the scholarship fund is continually growing and giving back.
There is no ceiling on contributions to the endowment and no limit on how you choose to donate, so it's not too late if you or your county have not contributed yet.
Scholarships are part of the Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization. That means individual or company contributions are tax-deductible.
Thanks to all who have helped honor the memory of this remarkable member of the Farm Bureau family. She will forever be with us in our hearts.
