In addition to our herd of quality purebred and high percentage South Polls, we are making good progress towards our goal of building a fullblood herd with elite SP genetics. These two lovely girls gave us heifer calves and are both maternal granddaughters of VLCC 368, a venerable matron at Voss Land and Cattle that is producing her 16th straight calf this spring. 624 is also a maternal sister to the VLCC 340 bull.

We pulled a 74 # LIVE heifer calf out of a not quite 18 month old heifer that is the smallest of her peers (about 700 lbs?). Obviously, we left an unweaned, very precocious fall born bull calf with the (also unweaned) heifer calves a little too long. She's not alone - looks like there were 10 in his harem, that we know of so far. The other four that have calved have had smaller calves with no problems. So anyway, we have a couple of fall 2025 boys that will be weaned or separated from their herdmates early.
