We have been sold out of milk for a few days but have extra leftover from this morning.

Behind the scenes video from yesterday.

Yesterday we took a stock trailer full of our girls down to the vet to have them preg checked.

We do not own a bull at our farm, and in order for our beef herd to continue growing, we take our girls to the vet to have them AI'd.
The preg check is to confirm if their body took the AI when they were last seen.

Once we got to the farm, it was time to set up cattle pannels in the field.
Then we led the herd over to where we wanted them with some "cake" (or cow treats).
We spent probably half an hour sorting and loading the girls onto the trailer.

I have personally taken a big interest in learning all about our cattle.
I asked the vet if I could preg check some of the girls with her.
The staff helped me put on a glove that went all the way up to my shoulder and walked me through the steps. It was so neat! I got to feel around in a cow that was only 2 months along into her pregnancy and a cow that was about 7 months along.
If you would've told me 5 years ago i would have taken an interest in preg checking my own cows, I would have thought you lost your mind. But yesterday me thought that was the coolest thing!
