We’re the Cooper family—Zach, Diane, Beckett, Easton, Miles, and Landry—fondly known as “The Coop Troop.” Zach and Diane have been married for 18 years and share a passion for faith, family, and bold new ventures. Zach’s professional journey has been diverse and entrepreneurial, with experience ranging from farming and agricultural sales to real estate investing and athletic coaching! Always driven by curiosity and challenge, Zach’s latest farming endeavor has led him to launch The Hilltop and bring premium American Wagyu beef to your dinner table. Zach’s parents, Bob & Carla Cooper—third-generation farmers—have been raising American Wagyu cattle for over a decade. For years, Bob encouraged Zach to bring this exceptional beef directly to consumers. With a shared love for his dad’s American Wagyu and a desire to help you create melt-in-your-mouth dinnertime experiences, Zach and his family are excited and honored to share their family’s beef with you! The name “The Hilltop” holds deep sentimental value. In the 1970s, Zach’s grandparents, Charles and Irene Cooper, purchased a beautiful piece of land in north central Missouri and built their home there. They lovingly called it The Hilltop. Today, we honor their legacy and the memories made on that land by continuing the Cooper family tradition under the same name. We’re proud to share our heritage, our beef, and our journey with you.

The silage truck is loaded, the steam is rolling, and the girls are about to enjoy one of their favorite meals!

Around here, we take feeding time pretty seriously. Happy cows, full bellies, and good nutrition are all part of raising quality American Wagyu!

There’s something about a picture like this that tells a story words almost can’t.

Farming isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s a lifetime of early mornings, long days, hard decisions, and a whole lot of faith. It’s knowledge passed down through generations, lessons learned in the fields, and a deep respect for the land and the animals entrusted to our care.

Apparently, somebody thought this morning was a good time for a bath! 🐮💦😂

We caught this little guy in a bit of a predicament, but thankfully Zach was there to get him out! His mama was sure happy to have her baby back on dry ground and wasted no time licking him up and getting him cleaned off. ❤️

It’s days like these that remind us why checking cows is about more than just counting heads. It’s making sure everybody is safe, healthy, and right where they belong.

The hum of combines in the distance, golden fields waiting to be harvested, dust hanging in the afternoon sunshine, and the satisfaction of another season’s hard work.

It’s long days, tired hands, full grain bins, and grateful hearts.

There’s a beauty in harvest that never gets old. A reminder of the blessings of the land, the faith it takes to plant a seed, and the privilege of watching it grow.

There’s something so peaceful about the stillness of an early morning on the farm. The fog settles over the pasture, the cows quietly graze, and for a little while, the world seems to slow down.

No hustle. No hurry. Just the beauty of God’s creation and the simple blessings of farm life.

There’s something about ending a long day like this. 🌽🌅

A semi full of corn to unload, work still to be done… and a sunset that makes you stop for just a minute and take it all in.

Last night was absolutely beautiful here at The Hilltop. The kind of evening that reminds you how blessed we are to do this work, raise these cattle, and call this place home.

Good feed. Good cattle. Good land. And one incredible view.
