He found some shade cloth and tried to make a turban out of it. He ended up with about 30 feet of streamers that were flapping in the wind behind him when he ran. His pen mates wanted nothing to do with him and were in a panic. So I tranquilized him and cut it off. Everything is good now but we worked on this problem until about 900 last night. There’s always something that needs doing on a deer farm.

The nieces and nephews all had a good time bottle feeding the fawns and seeing the rest of the farm.

First piebald fawn we’ve had in over 15 yrs of deer farming.

This buck fawn (Pink 1) had blue tongue and/or EHD in September of last year. I didn’t think he would make it but he seems to be doing fine as of May 10. Fawning season is upon us now.

Blue tongue and EHD both have really been getting bad for our deer. We’ve lost 4 adult does in the past 10 days. This buck fawn had blue tongue on Sept 15 and I treated him with Draxxin, Dex, Nuflor, ivermectin injectable and vitamin B complex. He seems to be getting better each day. Pics taken on Sept 15 and again at noon today Sept 22.
