This past weekend we had the honor of celebrating some of the best chefs in the industry at the annual awards dinner! From the chapter chef of the year to the pastry chef of the year, and even the prestigious presidential awards – it was a night filled with great food and good times. 🥂 It was amazing to support and recognize the talent and hard work of our culinary community. Can’t wait for next year’s event!

One interesting food fact about turkey is that it contains an amino acid called tryptophan, which is often associated with the feeling of sleepiness after a big Thanksgiving meal. However, turkey actually contains no more tryptophan than other types of poultry. The drowsiness experienced after a Thanksgiving feast is more likely due to the overall large quantity of food consumed, as well as the combination of carbohydrates and alcohol commonly consumed during the holiday.
