I made a retort thanks to Cody Don Reeder for the info. Now I can make my own carbon for my carbon filtered water to make malt. Or start charcoal art? Or face paint? Or carbonize other things?

Since we can't have fireworks this year I'll make own out of wheat. I forgot to turn off the blower in the kiln while vacuuming. It's still pretty.

Merrrry Solstice! Every summer Solstice we hike Ensign peak and watch the sun set at its most northern point. Traditions are important.

An aerial view of another batch of malt. This 10,000 pounds are destined to be a Munich 10. I bring the grain to a higher moisture in the steep at 46%. This makes more soluable proteins and makes for amino acids for the Millard process. More melanoidins means better beer.

Had my first beer named after me! The great beer mashup was a great success. Perfect weather. Great brews, alot made with Utah malt.
