Are you waiting for a sign to try the porch wine Southerners may know and others are talking about? This is it! A fantastically simple, tart, summery way to sip this season.

Combine a bottle of dry white wine (I used Pinot Grigio), two cups of ice, a tune of frozen lemonade concentrate, a half cup of gin or vodka, and the juice of one or two lemons (depending on your preferred tartness) in a blender. Whizz until smooth and frothy. Pour this into a pretty pitcher that collections two thinly sliced lemons and several (6-7) sprigs of fresh mint. Stir well and drink immediately…preferably on a porch or in a shaded garden.

Give it a try and cool off on these ridiculously hot summer days!

Opening a bottle I purchased last month after seeing it on the list from .ut 🍷 This gorgeous South African white blend is 80% Sauvignon Blanc + 20% Semillon -creating a fragrant nose of stone, citrus, & tropical fruits. A sure sign of some luscious acidity!

It’s very fruit-forward, well rounded, and crisp with peach, passion fruit, lime, and a hint of apple for balance. Its origin in a cooler climate lends it high acidity, bringing that Sauv Blanc crispness to balance the richness of Semillon grapes.

Highly drinkable and perfect for a very warm spring afternoon! Enjoy your Mother’s Day in whatever way makes the holiday meaningful to you. I’m spending mine with a glass of wine and my dogs 🐾

Celebrating with a glass of Saracco Moscato di Asti. Several years ago, this was the first wine I loved enough to buy several bottles. Its lush sweetness and mild bubbles drew me in, seducing me with its vibrant and plush nose and flavors.

I don’t often drink it these days, but always have a couple bottles in reserve. It’s dessert sweet, very peachy and almost as sweet as mead to me. I chose a glass tonight rather than a bedtime cookie 🍪

It’s available in Utah liquor stores, among the Italian whites & moscatos. If you’re a fan of sweeter bubbles, this is a stellar choice for your next glass 🥂

Mimosa Monday with the first fire pit of the year. I wanted to spend some time in my yard with the pups, a book, and a beverage before the next cold snap at the end of the week.

What are you drinking and/or reading this week?

Girl dinner: a series. Yes, those are frozen peaches in my Sauvignon Blanc ! I make my own rules! I also paired the Kim Crawford Illuminate with leftovers from a couple events to create a snack-type meal.

Tonight’s girl diner was a not pictured lemon Greek Yogurt to go with the crackers & Jarlsberg dip and a gorgeous glass of J. Lohr Riesling.

Why do these work? The peaches are sweet and icy, keeping the crisp and juicy Sauvvy B cold and delectable. It’s definitely an easy drinker that can be in your glass on a lazy night or a patio evening. The minerality & faint sweet hints to the Riesling balance the creamy, nutty flavor in the Jarlsberg and the salty crackers.

A only Tuesday and there’s still studying left to do. I’m six chapters in on my CSW certification guide book and enjoying the education 🍷

We had a fantastic Wednesday night out at with . Kaleb & Ryan hosted an evening of rose wines by women winemakers. The conversations were lively, the wine was incredible, and we capped the event by sharing a bottle of Stonybrook Zinfandel and a spice of their olive oil cake. It’s always an event to remember with these ladies and the Tasting Room 🍷
