After the hurricane, much of the ranch was left buried in silt and stripped down to what felt like a moonscape. In an effort to bring a little life back to the property, we scattered a native wildflower mix across the damaged ground with no real plan other than hoping something would grow.

And it did.

The flowers showed up first. Then came the bees, butterflies, color, and a feeling that the land was healing alongside us. What started as a small act of restoration has now grown into the beginning of a bonafide flower farm — something we plan to make a permanent feature at the Green River Ranch.

We have no idea exactly how this journey will go, but we’re all in. Be sure to follow along as we stumble, persevere, make mistakes, learn the process, and slowly write the next chapter in the story.
