Our Story

I am a hobby Bee keeper who loves what I do. The Bee's are fascinating too watch and a wonderful part of Gods creation. Honey and Honey bees are mentioned many times in the scriptures. I enjoy bee keeping and learning more about them as I go. My goal is to have about 30 hives and maybe even take some of them to the Abington/Marion area of Virginia where I have many family members living. I bet the sourwood honey would be great up there. I love this verse in the book of Proverbs. Chapter 24: 13 Eat honey my son, for it is good. Honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. 14. Know also that honey is like wisdom for you: if you find it, there is a future hope for you. And your hope will not be cut off. I changed the name of my Apiary to White Man’s Fly, which comes from a story from this country’s founding. As the honey bee was not native to the US, the way the Native Indians could tell where the colonists had moved to and how far inland, was by noticing the “white Man’s Fly”, the honey bee. When they saw honey bees, they new that the settlers weren't far away. Kind of cool I thought.
