Pearl is available to new milk stand.

She loves her job, holds her condition well, hardly ever needs worming, has strong feet, strong will to milk & perfect manners on the stand. She was bred at Cedar Creek. Her dam Lace is a finished champion. Pearl is a 2 year old second freshener. She has a very gentle, easy demeanor. She’s a joy to work with.
Pearl is available due to no fault of her own. I’m entering a different season & my kids need more of me. 🫶🏻

I will likely post another doe this week. I also have a mature buck that could complete a starter breeding trio.

Well I originally ordered 2 dozen…
But shipped egg hatch rates..??
Am I right?

So I threw in another dozen…or so from my Barefoot ladies….
Because the incubator will hold 56!
But I used self control & only loaded maybe 40?

Because 50% might be Roos…
Who really knows…

This is how chicken math works.
My coop count doubled.

But all is well & if you ask me,
Hatching out the next generation is a glorious expression of
Hope & Dreams!!💕

Summer evenings.
When the light hits just right.
Lingering over all it touches,
Before fading to black.

Later bedtimes.
More time to throw the football
Or stroll barefoot through the grass,
Gaze following the sunset.

Golden grass tops sway
And birds roost.

Stop for gratitude.
Thanks.
And pause to wonder at life.

Breath deep.

I received some hatching eggs from Burberry Homestead today! I threw in 8 of my own to round out 3 dozen to go in the incubator tomorrow. Once a year (or maybe twice☺️) I’ll order hatching eggs from someone else’s flock to add variety to my basket. 🧺

Travis is working on brooder boxes in the coop! Nothing like chicks brewing to get coop projects knocked out! I have a handful of broody hens, so a couple of them will get gifted babies in 3 weeks. 🤞🏻Hoping for a good hatch.

I’m also working on painting the new coop! I have some mural ideas & a huge white wall! 🤔

Coffee sipping and bird watching/journaling with my littlest Fisher.🫶🏻
We are enamored with our feathered friends & try to keep a running list of who stops by for a drink of water or a sunflower seed.
Since it’s getting hotter around here, we try to refresh the bird bath daily. Best visitors this weekend were Eastern Bluebirds, Tufted Titmouse, Bullock’s Oriole & our very favorite Vermilion Flycatcher.
Nature adoration is on the daily to do list this summer. Get out & get a dose!🫶🏻
