Less than a week away! We have picked some awesome wines and my favorite food pairings to help us showcase this often misundsertood variety. We will begin by breaking the ice with a REAL Champagne, from Champagne, France. And not just because I love bubbles, but because Chardonnay is a major player in the Champagne blend and I threw a temper tantrum until they let me add one! Next we will explore the light, crisp and refreshing unoaked Chardonnays paired with.... don't laugh...home made chicken noodle soup! Just wait until you try a french Chablis with homemade chicken noodle soup, it's the best cold medicine available over the counter. We will transition into neutral oaked, elegant and slightly butterty Chardonnays featuring a Russian River Chardonnay and buttered mini crab cakes. From there we will round out the tasting by trying the big oaked offerings out of france with Pouilly Fuisse from Burgundy followed by a big, decadent, rich and full bodied California Chardonnay paired with an equally decadent chicken alfredo!
