Our Story

My name is Mark. I am a school teacher. I have a beautiful wife, Patti, and two special boys, Joseph and Enoch.

We started with our own cow that had cancer and died. She was the start of a digression that was never righted. We got another Jersey cow that broke her leg and died. Then we got an old Guernsey we called June Bug that had leaky teats. She gave us four gallons of milk a day. We had to get pigs to drink all that milk. We retired her due to old age after a few years. She became the farm pet cow. At the end, her poor hips creaked every time she walked. She passed away from old age in 2018.

We got Jessica, the milk goat, a registered Nubian. She was precious. We still have two of her daughters. One of her daughters, Heidi, threw triplets twice in a row. They both delivered twins in 2019, a boy and a girl each. Our goat herd is growing. We love to take them foraging. One of their favorite foods is the giant ragweed. Patti’s mom began to experiment with making soap using Jessica’s extra milk.

Over the years the female of the human herd, Patti, queen bee, has been very interested in growing edibles and medicinals. She loves to share these beautiful plants with friends and has decided to pot some up to sell to the neighbors.
