San Antonio, let me put you on to a taco that’s absolutely worth the drive no matter where you are in Texas.

Palenque Grill at La Cantera is celebrating National Taco Month with the Taco Charles, and if you know me, you know ribeye tacos are some of my favorites!

Juicy ribeye, crispy cheese costra, avocado, and pickled red onions. Nothing complicated, just an incredible combination of flavors! I tried mine on both corn and flour tortillas, along with all their salsas, and this taco is ON POINT!

And since it’s October, they’ve got some pretty incredible Halloween cocktails to go with it! The Blood Martini, Diablita, and my personal favorite, the Haunted Martini!

If you love chamoy and Tajín, that Haunted Martini is something SPECIAL! Light, refreshing, and easily one of the best cocktails I’ve had in San Antonio!

Whether you’re a local or visiting San Antonio and looking for some great Mexican food, Palenque Grill needs to be on your list!

San Antonio, let me put you on to one of the biggest surprises I’ve had this year!
El Mercado SA completely caught me off guard! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a Mexican and Tex-Mex bowl concept, but after that first bite, I was sold!
They’re pushing out some seriously flavorful Mexican and Tex-Mex bowls and burritos, with plenty of options to make them your own. Their queso is incredible, their salsas bring some serious HEAT, and the food is ON POINT!

What I really like is how they’ve made it easy to grab a great meal without sacrificing flavor.
Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, grabbing dinner, or kicking back with a frozen margarita, it’s a concept that just works!

And whatever you do, save room for that chocolate chip cookie. I’d make the drive just for another one!

San Antonio, let me put you on to one of my favorite spots for authentic Turkish and Mediterranean food!

Chef’s Table Turkish Mediterranean Grill , tucked away off Babcock Road near the Medical Center, is one of those places that keeps me coming back!

From their charcoal-grilled meats and traditional Turkish dishes to the fresh bread and appetizers, the flavors here are on point!

My go-to is their Mixed Grill for Two, loaded with Turkish köfte, lamb and chicken döner, and shish kebabs. Here’s a tip: add the grilled lamb chops! They cost a little extra, but trust me, it’s worth it!

Their lamb shank is another personal favorite, and don’t skip the appetizer sampler!

And if you’ve been seeing those viral fruit mousse pastries online, they’ve got them here from their sister restaurant, La Cafe! But I’m still finishing my meal with baklava and Turkish coffee!

Whether it’s date night, dinner with the family, or you’re just looking to try something different, put Chef’s Table on your list!

All-you-can-eat BBQ for under $28?

And it’s stupid good. 🔥🍖

San Antonio, let me put you on to Freddy Cruz .

Every single day they’re serving up all-you-can-eat brisket, chicken, sausage, ribs, plus all the classic Texas sides. Mac and cheese. Creamed corn. Beans. Potato salad. And it just keeps coming.

And it’s under $28. You’re not finding a better BBQ deal than that.

And let me tell you right now… the sweet potato casserole? My favorite side.
And that banana pudding? Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had.

SAN ANTONIO, LET ME PUT YOU ON to this little HONEY HOLE way up on the North Side, and when I tell you this place is ON POINT, I’m not playing!

I’m talking about DAE GEE Korean BBQ, where you can PIG OUT on some ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Korean BBQ!

Now here’s what I really liked about this place. If you’re feeling a little Gordon Ramsay-ish, you can cook everything yourself right at the table. But if you’re like me and don’t always know what you’re doing, the staff will actually help you cook it!

And if you don’t feel like cooking at all, they’ll make it in the kitchen and bring it straight to you.

I went with their SWINE DINING experience because that’s how I do it! Marinated short ribs, ribeye, pork belly, Korean sides, and a whole lot more. Man, everything was packed with flavor!

They’ve even got a full bar with cocktails and soju drinks.

The place is spacious, the tables are big, and whether you’re going with friends, family, or on a date, it’s just a really cool experience.

And the best part? You don’t have to know a thing about cooking Korean BBQ to enjoy it!

SAN ANTONIO, RED AL PASTOR OR GREEN AL PASTOR?! WHY NOT BOTH?!

I’m talking authentic Mexican street tacos, cut straight off the trompos, onto the plate and into your mouth!

I’m off Huebner Road at Los Trompos Tacos de Barrio BRAND-NEW LOCATION! They’ve moved from their previous spot, which is now closed, so if you’ve been looking for them, THIS is where you’ll find them!

And man, if you love mini tacos, you better put this place on your list!

They’ve got Al Pastor Rojo AND Al Pastor Verde, carved straight off two different trompos, and you already know I had to get five of each!

But I didn’t stop there!

I also threw down on their BIG MIX, loaded with 15 mini tacos featuring Al Pastor, Asada, Longaniza, Al Pastor Verde and Campechano. Then came the Pocha, their asada quesadilla, and the Longaniza Papa!

And for dessert? I had to try BOTH the Vanilla Tres Leches and Mexican Chocolate Tres Leches!

SAN ANTONIO, ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT SUSHI, MADE FRESH TO ORDER, HIBACHI AND TWO MASSIVE SUSHI BOATS!

I’m in Alamo Ranch at Takumi Japanese Restaurant & Bar -All You Can Eat Sushi , and man, if you’re a sushi lover and haven’t been here yet, you’re TRULY MISSING OUT!

Unlike your typical sushi buffet, Takumi is an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant where dishes are made fresh to order, and they’ve got a HUGE selection!

I started with Miso Soup, Spicy Garlic Edamame, Gyoza, Shrimp Tempura, Crab Rangoons, Fried Calamari and Kani Salad.

But those TEMPURA JALAPEÑOS?! THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! No joke!

And when it came to the sushi, I couldn’t decide what to order, so I went with TWO BOATS!

The first was a chef’s mix of fresh sashimi and nigiri. Man, the colors, flavors and freshness were INCREDIBLE!

The second was loaded with specialty sushi rolls, including the Lobster Chalaca, Takumi Roll, Texas Roll, Yummy Roll and Rainbow Roll!

And if you’re planning a sushi date night in San Antonio, you’ve GOTTA try their Valentine Roll. Because nothing says I LOVE YOU like sharing a Valentine Roll!

But Takumi isn’t just about sushi. I also threw down on their Hibachi Steak, Teriyaki Chicken and Hibachi Vegetables. And they’ve got specialty cocktails and a full bar!

SAN ANTONIO, BURGER BOY HAS BEEN KEEPING IT OLD SCHOOL!

Did you know the ORIGINAL Burger Boy on the St. Mary’s Strip was once a Whopper Burger, with roots going all the way back to the 1950s?!

Man, this place is a true San Antonio staple! From their classic burgers, Working Man, Chicken Sandwich and crinkle-cut fries to their legendary shakes, Burger Boy continues to deliver that old-school burger experience!
